Accommodation

We look forward to welcoming you!

All of our rooms at The Nog Inn are warm and welcoming, offering a comfortable and restful stay for business and leisure travellers alike.  Individually styled, whilst retaining character and offering you a delightful place to relax and unwind.

All rooms feature comfortable king size beds, crisp cotton bed linen, en-suite shower rooms and state of the art TVs.  Complimentary refreshments, toiletries and free wi-fi are available throughout.

Due to the age of the pub, our accommodation will unfortunately not suit wheelchair users or those with a degree of mobility impairment. Our beautiful B&B rooms are located at the rear of the pub in our garden. This involves going through the pub and down a quaint cobbled path.  Full details can be found on our Access Statement.

Here for work? No problem, each room has a desk so you can work comfortably.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Rooms may be reserved online with a valid credit or debit card.

We will issue a full refund if you cancel your booking with us within 3 days of your stay. If you cancel less than 3 days before your due date of arrival or fail to arrive at The Nog Inn (‘no show’), we will charge your credit/debit card with an amount equivalent to your first nights stay.  We recommend guests ensure they have valid travel insurance in place in case of the need to cancel for any reason.

If you would like to transfer your reservation to another date, please get in touch on 01963 32998 and we will be happy to help.

Confirmation of your booking will be sent by email subject to your providing a valid email address.

Our regular check-in time is 4pm-10pm, although an earlier check-in can be arranged by prior request.

Please vacate your room by 11am on your day of departure.

Breakfast is served 7-9am Monday-Friday & 7.30-9.30am at the weekends. We offer a full cooked breakfast, continental & cereals.

Please note when booking that we offer 2 options – with or without breakfast and the price of your stay reflects this.  However, if you book with us on a room only basis and later decide you would like to have breakfast, this isn’t a problem – please just let a member of our team know.

Unfortunately none of our rooms offer disabled access.

We have a z-bed which can be used in Room 1 or 2 and is suitable for a child up to the age of about 10 years old.  There is an additional charge of £10 per night for this.

Although we are dog-lovers and dogs are welcome in the pub, we are sadly unable to accommodate dogs for overnight stays.  Please note that there are absolutely no exceptions to this rule and if you arrive with a dog, you will need to seek alternative arrangements for the care of your animal.

We have limited car parking directly opposite the pub, but there are 3 free car parks within a 3 minute walk of us.  Details of these car parks can be found on our contact page – Contact – The Nog Inn

Access Statement

Please find below a description of our letting rooms at The Nog Inn, the facilities, layout and access for guests with special requirements.  Whilst every effort has been made to include all of the information that might be of use to anyone using our facilities, there may be some information that has been missed; please do not hesitate to contact us on 01963 32998 or at email@thenoginn.co.uk if you have any suggestions for further information which could be added to this access statement.

Overview

The Nog Inn is situated on the one way system on South Street, Wincanton. Wincanton is a small market town with a good selection of shops & businesses.

The Nog Inn is a small freehold pub with 4 letting rooms located down a cobbled path in a separate building at the rear of the pub. The pub itself is on 2 levels and due to the age of the building is not easy for less mobile people to negotiate.

The pub currently opens 4-11pm Monday-Friday, midday-11pm on Saturday and midday -10pm on Sunday.

Breakfast for our guests is served 7am-9am in the pub.

Fire Evacuation

If a fire breaks out within our letting rooms, we ask all guests to proceed to The Nog Inn car park which is located directly opposite the pub, across a small road. To access this you will need to walk up the cobble path, back towards the pub, go straight through the pub and across the road to safety.

Car Parking

We have a small car park which accommodates 6 cars directly opposite the pub on South Street. If you are unable to park here, then you can stop on the double yellow lines, and we will assist you with unloading your bags. There are 3 free car parks within a 3 minute walk of us, details of which we will send to you upon booking.

The car park is partially tarmac / gravel. Due to there being an electricity substation at the rear of the car park it is frequently dug up to access cables etc… whilst it is always repaired, it is a little uneven as a result.

Entering The Nog Inn

Entering South Street via the one way system, we are located on the right hand side.

If you park in the car park directly opposite us, you will need to cross South Street (which is a one way street), be careful of the raised kerb as you cross.

As you enter The Nog, the upper pub has wooden flooring – this is an old building dating back to the 14th century in parts, so throughout care needs to be taken as floors / walls etc are uneven.

Pub / Dining Area

From the upper pub you walk down 2 small steps with a hand rail on the left hand side. This brings you to the bar area, and to your right, our other dining area. The bar area has 4 bar stools and a wooden floor. The dining area to the right is carpeted with another step towards the bottom which leads you to our fireplace table with flagstone flooring.

The pub is open plan and lit with wall lights and freestanding lamps.

There are a variety of tables and chairs, as well as a comfy sofa and coffee table area.

We have 2 log burners, one at each end of the pub.

When you arrive, please check in at the bar where a member of our team will be pleased to show you to your room and answer any questions you might have.

From the bar area you walk through another door, with another step to take you to the toilet area and then on to the garden. Through this door you will walk down a cobble path where you will find our beautiful renovated letting rooms on your right hand side.

Toilet facilities at The Nog Inn

The ladies toilet is on the left hand side, past the bar area and through a door. It is a large single cubicle with sink, mirror & automatic hand dryer. The baby change facility is also located in this room.

The gents toilet is just beyond the ladies and consists of 2 urinals and a toilet cubicle, together with hand wash facilities, automatic hand dryer and mirror.

Both toilets are lit with ceiling lights on an automatic switch. Flooring is industrial non slip altro.

LETTING ROOMS & GARDEN

Garden

The garden is found at the rear of the pub. To access it, you need to walk the whole way through the pub, down the cobbled stone path and past the letting rooms.

The area at the rear of the garden is decked and access via 2 steps.

The smoking shelter covered and is accessed via 1 step and contains poser tables and chairs.

The remainder of the garden is all on one level and there is a variety of rattan furniture and picnic bench style seating.
