Eating & Drinking

Our food

We serve home cooked food until 9pm from Sunday – Thursday and 10pm on Friday and Saturday.  Our main menu is served all day alongside daily specials, if you’re after something a bit lighter, perhaps our lunch time menu can tempt you!.  We also offer a separate childrens menu.  If you have any special dietary requirements please do speak to us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

We also offer a carvery between 12 and 3pm every Sunday.  This is very popular and bookings are advised.

Most of our food is home made by Will & Chris on the premises.  It is freshly prepared to order, so if you are in a hurry please let us know so that we can advise how long your order may take or alternatively we accept pre-orders.   Just give us a call on 01963 32998 with your request and the time you’d like to eat, and we’ll have it ready for you!

Our drinks

As a Freehouse we are able to source an eclectic range of beers and ales and also stock a great range of wines , at very reasonable prices.

We offer two regular lagers, a guest beer and a Weissbier, which is particularly popular.  Our session ales are Otter Bitter and a Sharps (Red Ale at present) and in addition we like to offer a couple of guest ales which we try and source from local craft brewers.

For the cider drinkers amongst you we offer Stowford Press, Sheppeys and a couple of farmhouse guest ciders – delicious!

Our suppliers

We are passionate about the quality of the food and drink we serve and where ever possible serve locally sourced and seasonal produce.  For example, we buy our meat from Andrew Barclay Butchers in the High Street, our fruit and vegetables are supplied by Chalmers of Wells Ltd, and any speciality produce that we use is from The Fine Food Company in Wincanton.

There’s always a deal to be done – if you’re great at hunting, catching or growing things that are good to eat, we would be delighted to take them off your hands in exchange for a drink or meal with us.
